Coburn Amendment Would Also Cut Summer Institute Funding

Some additional information from APSA regarding the Coburn amendment:

If the amendment passes, not only would political science faculty and their students and research be affected. APSA would also lose its NSF funding for the Ralph Bunche Summer Institute, a 5-week program for undergraduate students from underrepresented groups. The program, run out of Duke, simulates the graduate school experience and encourages pursuit of graduate studies in political science.

FYI: there is an online petition to rally opposition to the amendment: http://www.petition2congress.com/2/2508/keep-nsf-political-science-program/
