OK. I have an undergraduate degree from where the Bush library will be located and a graduate one from Ann Arbor, one of our country’s more liberal campuses. Graduated undergrad with more than 180 credits. And I’ve heard exactly one more-than-throwaway political comment in 50 or so courses. It was about inherent violence in Islam. That’s it. I’m very tired of all the talk of academic liberalism. The vast majority of high-achieving people that I know went into consulting or investment banking. The liberal arts people end up going to law school and big firm law. Even the people who do Teach for America end up using it as a buttress to their MBA apps and six-figure careers.
