I am from Brazil and I just had tried it and it didn’t work.
I don’t know if it is my location or a problem with this new feature.
I typed “unemployment rate california”, but didn’t get the expected (or promissed) results, but links to newspaper and blogs.
Did you try it?

Manoel,
It just worked for me for California. The first item listed was the graph they indicated. Perhaps there are some wrinkles yet to be ironed out.
