Nixonland panel
In September, I organized a panel on Rick Perlstein’s recent book Nixonland, with contributions from Paul Krugman (pre-Nobel), Nolan McCarty, Rick Perlstein, Paul Pierson and Eric Rauchway. I think it’s fair to say that it was a really good panel (I can say that because all I did was make sure that the participants turned up and didn’t talk for too long - they did the real talking). Anyway, I’ve put up a lightly edited version of the panel here as a PDF; it is available under a Creative Commons license, and those who want to remix it can find the raw .tex file here. In addition to the substantive material, there are some very interesting discussions about the relationship between political history and political science, and between policy-focused and election-focused accounts of US politics.
